Adjusting the Security Settings of Internet Explorer
Question
I am unable to view the Flash animation on the front page of this site. I get no animate or an error that says "Your security settings do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly.
Solution #1
go to internet explorer Tools Menu, Internet Options, Security Tab, change it To DEFAULT - then try running it again. it will have pop-ups at the top that you will have to click on to allow on a per site basis. i say pop ups more like activex control bars, right click on it, and say allow. there is no setting where you can allow it to run someplaces and not others, you must allow on as per needed basis.
Solution #2
I get a small yellow warning banner across the top of the web site/browser saying that the site was blocked, click here. When you click there it say down load active X this time. It down loads it and you then use that site. You have to do this each time you go to a site, and since your security zones will block this again, you will have to do this each time. no big deal. It only takes seconds with broad band.
Solution #3
In Internet Explorer Go to Tools > > Internet Options Click the Security Tab Click on Trusted Sites (the green check) to make it active. Click on Custom Level... Scroll down to under the Active X Control Settings... For the settings under Active X control, set to prompt for any control settings. This should allow you to see what active x control is running for adobe. If this fails, you can always try using the Reset button to turn all settings back to a custom level. Try medium first (under trusted sites of course), if that fails try low.
